The Journey
Behind Every Product
From Nepal's highlands to global markets, every step of our supply chain is guided by transparency, traceability, and trust.
Step 01
Harvest at Origin
Our story begins in the terraced highlands of Nepal. Partner farmers harvest spices, grains, and lentils at peak ripeness using generations-old techniques, ensuring every batch meets our strict quality benchmarks before it leaves the field.

Step 02
Processing & Packaging
Raw produce moves to our certified processing facility in Kathmandu where it is cleaned, milled, blended, and packed to EU food-safety standards. Every batch is lab-tested for moisture, contamination, and nutritional profile before sealing.

Step 03
International Shipping
Sealed pallets leave our Kathmandu warehouse by road to Kolkata port, then sail westbound under temperature-monitored conditions. Full container loads or LCL groupage — we handle customs documentation, phytosanitary certificates, and COA for every shipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about wholesale ordering from Kathmandu Food.
MOQs vary by product line. Most dry goods (spices, lentils, grains) start at 100 kg per SKU, while specialty items such as single-origin teas and pickles start at 50 kg. Full-container orders (FCL, typically 18–22 MT) attract the best per-kg pricing. Contact our sales team for a consolidated pallet option if you need multiple SKUs without reaching FCL volumes.
Yes. We operate a three-tier pricing structure: standard wholesale (100 kg–999 kg per order), preferred distributor (1,000 kg–4,999 kg), and key account / container pricing (5,000 kg+). Prices are quoted in EUR ex-works Italy and inclusive of standard EU import duty where applicable. Request a price list via our bulk-order form and a sales manager will respond within one business day.
Every shipment is accompanied by a commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, FSSAI food-safety certificate (India), and a third-party lab report covering heavy metals, pesticide residues, and microbiological analysis. Products destined for organic retailers can be supplied with organic certification documentation upon request. All products comply with EU Regulation 1169/2011 on food information.
We distribute to all 27 EU member states plus Norway and Switzerland from our bonded warehouse in northern Italy. Standard road-freight delivery takes 3–7 business days depending on destination. For buyers in Germany, Austria, France, the Netherlands, and Belgium, we typically deliver within 3–4 days. Cold-chain distribution is available for temperature-sensitive products at an additional logistics fee.
New accounts are invoiced on a 50% deposit / 50% before dispatch basis. Established accounts with 6+ months of trading history are eligible for net-30 terms subject to credit assessment. We accept SEPA bank transfer and SWIFT international wire. Letter of credit (LC at sight) is available for container-level orders. We do not accept card payments for wholesale transactions.
Yes. We offer full co-packing services from our Kathmandu facility. Minimum quantities for private-label runs are 500 kg per SKU. You supply the artwork (print-ready PDF); we handle EU-compliant label copy, nutritional tables, and allergen declarations. Lead time for a new private-label product is 8–12 weeks from artwork approval to delivery in Europe.
Every incoming container is inspected at our Italian warehouse before release to orders. If a quality discrepancy is discovered after delivery, raise a non-conformance report (NCR) via your account portal within 14 days of receipt. We will arrange collection of a reference sample and, once the claim is verified, issue a credit note or replacement shipment at no additional freight cost.
Regional exclusivity is available for key accounts that commit to annual volume thresholds. Terms are negotiated individually and typically cover a defined geographic territory (e.g., DACH, Benelux, or Nordic countries) for one or more product categories. Exclusivity agreements are reviewed annually. Contact our commercial team to discuss whether your projected volumes qualify.
